8420 Series Splice Kits
Cold shrink splicing products are designed using 3M's unique cold shrink delivery system. Products are supplied pre-stretched on a removable core for efficiency and ease of installation. Removal of the core (unwind) after positioning the splice allows the product to shrink into position forming a moisture-tight seal. The live memory action of the specially formulated material ensures a permanent, durable environmental seal and insulation. The 8420 meets requirements of ANSI C119-1 and Western Underground Guide 2, 14 for secondary splices rated up to 1kV.

QS1000 Cold Shrink Joints
QS1000 is a one piece cold shrink joint body manufactured from a specially formulated silicone material which provides flexibility, easy installation at low temperatures and superior electrical performance over a wide range of operating temperatures. The finished body is expanded and loaded onto a removable supporting core which allows the joint to be installed without the need for tools or heat.

QS1000 is suitable for use on polymeric and paper cables up to and including 11kV. The QS1000 body is used as the basis for a range of 11kV joints is available as part of the 3M Cold Shrink System.

QS2000 Cold Shrink Joints

• Removable core: The core is removed with a simple unwinding action, allowing the moulded rubber body to shrink and seal.
